Contribution to Local Communities

Nikon is actively engaged in social contribution activities and this forms part of the company's commitment to being a "responsible corporate citizen". Nikon Group companies conduct their social contribution activities independently, drawing upon company culture and strengths.
The following demonstrates those community activities as conducted by domestic and overseas Nikon Group companies:

Japan: Nikon Corporation Plants and Group companies

In Japan, Nikon has six plants (Oi Plant, Kumagaya Plant, Yokohama Plant, Sagamihara Plant, Yokosuka Plant and Mito Plant) and many group companies. These plants conduct various activities to forge good relations with local communities. Among various activities, cleaning up areas around plants and neighboring areas is one that all Nikon plants are taking part in. The number of employees who participate in cleanup activities is increasing year by year. Moreover, some plants and group companies contribute to improving local education by conducting plant tours for local elementary and junior high school students, and providing practice work for them.
They also contribute to raising of environmental awareness by actively participating in various environmental events in regions. Thus, Nikon plants and group companies are actively interacting with their local communities through various activities.
