Art and Culture

In the hope that lovers of photography around the world, from amateurs to professionals, will feel more joy through images and more happiness through expressions, Nikon is conducting a wide range of activities to contribute to photographic arts and photographic culture. Its activities include providing photographers with exhibition space for their works, managing forums, organizing workshops and holding events and contests. Nikon aims to create a new photographic culture, pursuing every possibility of imaging.

Nikon Salon Photo Galleries

With the aim of popularizing and advancing photographic culture, these permanent exhibition spaces were opened in 1968 to display outstanding photographic works by both amateurs and professionals in a wide range of fields.
Various activities related to photography are conducted at the 3 galleries -in Ginza and Shinjuku in Tokyo, and in Osaka. In the past fiscal year there were 82 exhibitions by individual photographers and 32 arranged by groups.

The Nikkor Club aims to provide opportunities for interaction by Nikon camera users. Various activities such as photographing events, photo seminars, photo competitions and so forth are held in order to improve photographic culture.

Nikon Photo Contest

Nikon Photo Contest International, which was launched in 1969, is designed to provide an arena for interchange among photography enthusiasts from all over the world (professional and amateur alike) and to contribute to the culture of photography.
