Introduction to Digiscoping
STEP.2 Getting started with digiscoping Part 1: Equipment
Choosing appropriate equipment

Fieldscopes Eyepieces Bracket/Attachment Digital Cameras

Bracket/Attachment

Prepare the appropriate brackets and attachments for your digital camera to connect it to a Nikon Fieldscope. If you choose the brackets and attachments designed for the digital camera in use, there are no concerns about using them for the digiscoping system.
FSB-U1
FSB-U1
Bracket FSB series
Bracket FSB series is a dedicated bracket to combine COOLPIX digital cameras with a Nikon Fieldscope. For combinations, refer to the system chart. Mounting is easy: simply secure the bracket onto the tripod socket.
With the wide DS Fieldscope eyepiece, no other attachment is necessary, which allows you to set up a simplified system.
Mount the provided cable release on the FSB-series to reduce equipment vibration when releasing the shutter.
FSA-L1
FSA-L1
FSA-L1
The FSA-L1 is an attachment for use with digital SLR cameras. Mount it directly on a Nikon digital SLR camera's F mount to connect to the Fieldscope.*
It is possible to use your camera's Aperture-Priority Auto and Manual exposure modes with Center-Weighted and Spot metering systems.
Shooting at focal lengths of 1500mm**/1200mm*** (35mm-format equivalent), and F13 are possible.

* We do not recommend connecting FSA-L1 with the Fieldscope ED50/50 A because this may be physically imbalanced in actual use and could compromise productive integrity.
** In combination with Fieldscope ED82 series/ ED78 series
*** In combination with Fieldscope III series, EDIII series/II series/EDII series/I/ED.
