Delicate human cells

A human body is made of an enormous number of cells.
It is said to be made of as many as 60 trillion cells of approximately 200 cell types.
To know about cells is to know about our body.
Live cell research is essential for the advancement of
medicine, but it is, in fact, quite difficult to study living cells.

Human cells are really quite delicate.
They become damaged or die due to a change in temperature or an infection in an environment even slightly different
from the original conditions inside our body.

How can we study such a small and fragile organism?
Nikon offers support in resolving this issue.

In order to observe living cells, they need to be removed from the incubator they are cultured in.
Then again, how about mounting a microscope inside the incubator?
The Nikon BioStation CT, developed as a result of an innovative approach and ideas,
makes it possible to study living cells under the best conditions.
Nikon technology provides active support for research
in advanced medicine such as regenerative medicine and cancer cell research or new drug development, always discreet yet always for the healthy future of every one of us.
