February 1, 2012
A compact, 26x high-power optical zoom model–the L810–and two 5x optical zoom entry-level models–the L26 and L25–that make capturing beautiful photos simple and fun
TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the release of three L-series cameras, which place emphasis on capturing beautiful photos with the simplest of operation. The L810 maintains a compact size despite its 26x high-power optical zoom lens. The L26 and L25 are entry-level models that offer 5x optical zoom and automatic shooting functions that make taking beautiful pictures simple.
Despite its compact size, the L810 is equipped with a CCD image sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels, a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers angles of view from the wide-angle 22.5 to super telephoto 585 mm (equivalent in 35-mm [135] format), and a new lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function. It offers the same form that supports a firm, steady grip and side zoom control that have made previous COOLPIX L-series models so popular for their high performance.
The L26, with its CCD image sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels, and the L25, successor to the COOLPIX L23 (released in February 2011), are equipped with a 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lens and a large and clear 3-inch TFT LCD monitor. In addition to Easy auto shooting mode for simple capture of photos exhibiting superior image quality, and an independent movie-record button that enables movie recording with the press of a button, both of these models are powered by AA batteries that can be purchased anywhere. These compact digital cameras are so easy to use that even first-time users will find taking beautiful pictures extremely simple.
L810 Primary Features
- An effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels and a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that boast coverage for wide-angle 22.5-mm to super telephoto 585-mm angles of view
Despite its compact size, the L810 is equipped with a CCD image sensor with an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels for superior image quality and a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers a broad range of angles of view from 22.5 to 585 mm (both equivalent in 35-mm [135] format). This makes shooting a variety of everyday scenes, from wide-angle landscapes to close-ups of people using zoom, extremely easy.
- An elegant and stable design available in 4 colors
The firm and comfortable grip and the side zoom control that support operation using both hands enable a steadier grip on the camera, reducing the camera shake that often occurs with shooting.
The camera is also available in four colors (black, red, bronze, blue) for selection according to individual preference. - Newly adopted lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function
The L810 is the first high-power zoom model in the COOLPIX L series to be equipped with a lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function. This enables high-precision optical camera shake compensation that can also be used with movie recording.
- A bright, high-resolution 3-inch TFT LCD monitor with wide viewing angle
The camera is equipped with a large and clear 3-inch, approximately 921k-dot TFT LCD monitor with wide viewing angle for which a Clear Color Display has been adopted. Monitor display clear and bright, even outdoors under direct sunlight and indoors where reflected lighting is often problematic, making shooting, applying settings, and viewing images easy. In addition, the expanded color reproduction range covers a broader range of colors for reproduction of nearly the entire sRGB gamut.
- Supports AA batteries
The camera can be powered by AA alkaline or lithium batteries. When using the camera away from home, support for these batteries that may be purchased anywhere enables worry-free shooting.
COOLPIX L26/L25 Primary Features
- 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lens that offers superior image quality
Both cameras are equipped with CCD image sensor and a 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lens. The L26 offers an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels and the L25 an effective pixel count of 10.1-million pixels. The NIKKOR lenses built into both cameras are wide-angle zoom lenses, beginning at the wide-angle 26 mm (equivalent in 35-mm [135] format) with the L26 and 28 mm (equivalent in 35-mm [135] format) with the L25, that make capturing large group photos and dynamic wide-angle landscapes simple.
- Large and clear 3-inch TFT LCD monitor
Adoption of a 3-inch, approximately 230k-dot TFT LCD monitor makes viewing photos and applying camera settings easier.
- Movie-record button adopted
Adoption of an independent movie-record button enables movie recording with the press of a button.
- Supports AA batteries
The camera can also be powered by AA alkaline or lithium batteries. When using the camera away from home, support for these batteries that may be purchased anywhere enables worry-free shooting.
- A variety of color options to suit individual style
Each camera is available in four colors: the L26 in silver, black, red, and blue, and the L25 in silver, black, red, and white. Users can choose the color that best suits their individual style or preference.
