Nikon to support "The 140th Open Championship"

Nikon Corporation (Makoto Kimura, President) is pleased to announce its patronage of The 140th Open Championship, to be held from July 14 to 17, 2011 at England's Royal St George's. The Open Championship is the world's oldest and traditional golf tournament, as well as one of the world's four major golfing events*.

Nikon has been a patron of The Open Championship since 1993.
As a patron, the Nikon logo will be prominently displayed around the course and at the retail unit, where Nikon's latest range of cameras and sport optics will be available to purchase. In addition, spectators will be able to take advantage of the Nikon binocular loan service at the Nikon retail unit.
Locally, the Nikon U.K. Ltd. team will be activating the association at the event with a host of activities to be enjoyed by visitors, including an experiential area where visitors will be able to receive firsthand advice on improving their golf swing from a professional PGA* golf coach. Nikon's high performance compact digital camera, the COOLPIX P300 which features full HD Movie Mode, will be used to take ‘before and after' slow motion movies to help visitors make improvements to their swing. These promotional activities will be conducted on-site during the event to add to the excitement of the Championship.

Furthermore, Nikon Professional Services (NPS) will be setting up a service depot offering equipment maintenance, cleaning, repair and loan for professional photographers covering the event.
