The Nikon COOLPIX brand grows yet stronger
New logo expresses Nikon's dedication to the world of photography
In welcoming the 10th anniversary of its COOLPIX compact digital camera brand, Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce new efforts to further strengthen the brand and win greater support among a yet broader audience. New Nikon COOLPIX models feature elegant new designs that combine user friendliness, high performance, advanced capabilities and outstanding image quality of a level only available from Nikon COOLPIX. Nikon will further promote the premium value offered by these new cameras by introducing a new brand logo on COOLPIX cameras released this spring.
The new logo adopts well-balanced characters with gentle curves and sharp, slender lines that add a more elegant accent to each COOLPIX camera, one that speaks of the brand's high quality and intelligent design. Adding an accent reminiscent of a master sculptor's chisel, the elongated line of the last letter in the name reflects fine craftsmanship and Nikon's pride and passion as a leading company in the imaging industry.
Nikon is also launching a new website dedicated to the COOLPIX line. This interactive site will establish closer communication between the brand and consumers as new products are released by offering a virtual experience of the attractive lifestyle and photographic enjoyment provided by COOLPIX cameras.

About COOLPIX
The COOLPIX brand originated with the launch of the Nikon COOLPIX 100 in 1997. The brand has since remained at the fore of the compact digital camera market, delivering high performance and top quality through a combination of the world-leading precision optics of Nikkor lenses, technologies derived from Nikon's vast experience as a camera manufacturer, and advanced digital technologies such as the industry's first integration of Wi-Fi and face recognition functionality.
A new lineup of COOLPIX cameras released in 2005 began the transition to focusing on individual needs within the varied lifestyles of today's camera users. Aiming to deliver maximum enjoyment of photography to the broadest possible audience, P (Performance) series models are packed with the advanced features and high performance needed to satisfy the expectations of photo enthusiasts; S (Style) series models combine elegant designs and ease of use with advanced features that lend greater fun to photography; and the L (Life) series models mesh perfectly in daily use by making it remarkably easy to achieve great pictures.
With the introduction of its COOLPIX cameras for spring 2007, Nikon moves to even more clearly convey the unique value of the COOLPIX experience. And, continuing to push the levels of image quality, performance and the user experience yet higher in the future, Nikon intends to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to fully satisfying user expectations with the finest line of compact digital cameras available.
