Nikon launches a website dedicated to its COOLPIX Premium Features

February 21, 2006

The place to learn about and experience the advantages of the advanced features built into Nikon's COOLPIX cameras

Tokyo – Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of its new website dedicated to introducing the four sets of advanced functions that collectively comprise the COOLPIX Premium Features built into new Nikon COOLPIX cameras, which aim to make it easier and more fun to shoot, to achieve optimized images, and to share the fun with others. The site's easy navigation and interactive graphic presentation is designed to let visitors experience the effects and advantages of each feature first-hand.

Individual sections are dedicated to each of the four feature sets, as listed below.

Pictmotion lets you share your photos in more imaginative and entertaining ways. Simply select the images to include, the style of transitions to be used, as well as an accompanying soundtrack, and have the camera create customized slideshows for viewing on the camera's LCD.

VR (Vibration Reduction) features two versatile modes that automatically detect and compensate for small movements that would otherwise cause images to blur. It not only enables greater shooting flexibility akin to using shutter speeds three stops faster, which proves effective in achieving sharper results in telephoto, macro, low-light and slow-shutter photography, but also facilitates faster framing on the LCD, and provides added stability when capturing the action as movies.

Wi-Fi – Nikon wireless image transfer lets you send images straight from Nikon COOLPIX cameras to a computer or PictBridge-compatible printer, quickly and completely free of the need to connect cables.

Image Innovations – Exclusive image optimization innovations include Face-priority AF and In-camera Red-eye Fix, which can be activated to optimize image capture, along with D-Lighting, which enhances results after shooting. Face-priority AF automatically finds then focuses on people's faces for satisfyingly sharp portraits time after time, no matter where your subject is in the shot. In-camera Red-eye Fix automatically detects and compensates for red eyes in the picture. D-Lighting automatically adds light and detail where necessary while leaving well-exposed areas precisely as they are in the original shot.

To learn more about how Pictmotion, VR, Wi-Fi, and the image optimization innovations of Face-priority AF, In-camera Red-eye Fix, and D-Lighting can improve the fun and freedom of shooting and sharing beautiful pictures, please visit the COOLPIX Premium Features website at http://www.coolpixfeatures.com.
