Nikon D70 and COOLSCAN V ED Named with TIPA Awards

Tokyo - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce that the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) has honored two Nikon products with significant consumer category awards this year. The TIPA named the Nikon D70 Digital SLR camera "Best Consumer Digital SLR Camera in Europe, 2004", and the Nikon COOLSCAN V ED the "Best Film Scanner in Europe, 2004".
TIPA is a non-profit, independent professional organization open to all magazines within the European photo and imaging publishing industry. Each year a group of editor members representing leading photo and imaging magazines from across Europe choose the TIPA "European Photo & Imaging Award" winners by vote. These prestigious awards for the best photographic and imaging products of the year are widely recognized throughout the industry.

The Best Consumer Digital SLR Camera in Europe 2004 - D70
The Nikon D70 is a very capable digital SLR camera with very few compromises, even though it is offered at a very attractive price. It even has some features not found on more expensive digital SLR bodies, making it the best value for money in the digital SLR arena.
The Best Film Scanner in Europe 2004 - COOLSCAN V ED
The Nikon COOLSCAN V ED sets a new standard for consumer film scanners. It combines professional features such as 4000 ppi optical resolution, 14 bits color depth and advanced Digital ICE4 * image corrections, with an attractive price.
The official award ceremony will take place at Photokina 2004 held in Cologne, Germany in September.
