Establishment of sales / service base in Poland corresponding to expanding EU

Nikon Corporation (SHIMAMURA, Teruo, President & COO) has announced today the establishment of Nikon Polska Sp. z o.o. as Nikon subsidiary in Warsaw, Poland. The establishment of the Polish subsidiary will enhance sales and service of Nikon Imaging products in anticipation of the ascension of Poland to EU Membership in May 2004.
Since the early nineties, when the Eastern European market began to emerge, Nikon has pursued a policy of building strong business and customer relations within the region with the first subsidiary established in Hungary in 1991 followed by the Czech Republic in 1994.
The Polish subsidiary will officially start operations on November 3, 2003.
Nikon Corporation considers Eastern Europe as a key region for business expansion and will continue developing operations with the objective of becoming a major force in the imaging market.
