TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the Nikon F75^* 35mm (135) autofocus SLR camera.

A compact, lightweight AF SLR camera, the Nikon F75 was developed as the Nikon AF SLR model for amateur SLR users including beginners. Offering advanced Nikon features and innovations that are standard in Nikon F5, F100 and F80 SLRs, Nikon system compatibility, and compact design, the F75 makes SLR photography very simple, convenient and versatile.

Boasting an ergonomic design, the F75 features easy-to-use dials and a large LCD panel for simplicity of operation. The fully automatic AUTO mode, for example, offers point-and-shoot capability which is ideal for beginners to SLR photography.
In addition, the F75's Vari-Program modes handle specific subjects and scenes automatically -- determining aperture and shutter speed values with professional precision.
The F75 also features P, S, A and M exposure modes for control of exposure that grows along with the photographer's capabilities.

The new Nikon F75 offers the latest Nikon technology, great SLR performance and an affordable price. Nikon's exclusive high-performance features include new 25-segment 3D Matrix Metering, Five-Area Dynamic Autofocus system with Focus Area Selector and 3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash control.

Also, it is easy to operate. Large mode dial and easy-to-view LCD panel ensure easy access to exposure modes, including Auto and five Vari-Program modes, for point-and-shoot operation with professional results.
A built-in Speedlight automatically pops up and fires flash when light is low or the subject is in backlighting.
The F75 also features creative exposure control functions like Auto Exposure Bracketing, Exposure Compensation, Multiple Exposure and more.
In addition, New On-Screen Battery/Film Indicators in the viewfinder show battery power and film supply status.
Of course, it is fully compatible with more than 40 AF Nikkor lenses including AF-S and VR lenses, for world-class optical quality.

The Nikon F75 is available in a standard and a QD version (F75D), and are available in black or silver color.

Nikon F75 Feature Highlights

Easy, intuitive operation

For all its sophistication, the F75 is particularly easy and intuitive to operate, so photographers don’t require detailed technical knowledge to master desired photographic effects. Simply select a shooting mode according to the shooting situation or type of picture wanted. A built-in Speedlight automatically pops up, ready to illuminate a scene in low light

Informative viewfinder

The viewfinder lets users keep their eye on the subject as they check shooting information. To confirm the focus area selected, the Vari-Brite Focus Area display is automatically superimposed in black in the viewfinder, and momentarily illuminated in red when you focus on a dark or poorly lit subject. New On-Screen Battery/Film indicators appear to warn users when battery power is running low, film is not properly loaded or just a few frames of film remain. Diopter Adjustment of the eyepiece compensates for near- or far-sightedness in a -1.5 to +0.8m^-1 range.

Five-Area Dynamic Autofocus System

The Nikon F75 AF system features five AF sensors, covering a wide area horizontally and vertically. In addition, the F75 has three Dynamic AF modes for maintaining focus automatically as the subject moves from a focus area you’ve selected to another.
Closest-Subject-Priority Dynamic AF mode. The focus area with the closest subject is automatically selected, so users can concentrate on shutter timing and shoot at will. Ideal for candid photography.
Center-Subject-Priority Dynamic AF mode. The center focus area is automatically selected. It is quick, simple and useful to turn the AF Area Mode Selector to this mode when there are closer objects to the camera than the main subject within the frame.
User-Selected-Area Dynamic AF mode. Focus Area Selector on the camera back is used to choose a specific focus area when composing a shot.

New 25-segment 3D Matrix Metering

25-segment 3D Matrix Metering is very smart at analyzing scene “atmosphere” as well as brightness. Comparing complex exposure information of more than 30,000 scenes in the camera's database with that from the actual scene, the F75 automatic exposure control system is astonishingly accurate.

3D Multi-Sensor Balanced Fill-Flash

With either the built-in Speedlight or a Nikon dedicated Speedlight set at TTL, the F75's five-segment TTL Multi Sensor and Monitor Pre-flash system determines the precise amount of flash needed to create a well-balanced picture by analyzing scene brightness, contrast and subject reflectance an instant before the shot is taken.
