Nikon Instruments Europe B.V. Established

Nikon Corporation (SHIMAMURA, Teruo president) announced that Nikon Europe B.V. will spin off its Instruments Division (including surveying instruments department) into a new Nikon sales and marketing subsidiary: Nikon Instruments Europe B.V.
The new company, which will start operating on April 1, 2002, was established to strengthen integrated operation based on Nikon's in-house company system introduced in October 1999, decentralize management and clarify accountability and decision-making for each product business sector within its domain.
The establishment of this new company will make it possible to expand Nikon instrument sales activities and increase sales in accordance with Instruments Company strategy. This should significantly strengthen the presence of our Instruments Business in Europe.
