September 19, 2002
TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the introduction of the LiteTouch Zoom 150ED, the world's smallest, lightest 35mm 4x zoom compact camera*.
Designed to provide maximum pleasure in ownership and use, the LiteTouch Zoom 150ED is the new flagship of Nikon's Touch series, completing the lineup and elevating the overall series image. Featuring a built-in 4x zoom lens, the camera body is a mere 4mm (0.16 in.) thicker than the comparable 3.4x zoom LiteTouch Zoom 130ED. To match the outstanding functionality, the LiteTouch Zoom 150ED body offers subtly elegant cosmetic design touches that make for a camera that looks as pleasing as the photographs that it takes.
A perfect companion for travel and outdoor use, the LiteTouch Zoom 150ED's combination of wide-range zoom and optical quality makes it a camera that offers superior performance and delivers superb photographic results.
Within its slim, refined exterior, the LiteTouch Zoom 150ED houses a 4x (38-150mm) zoom lens that employs state-of-the-art Nikon ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and two aspherical lens elements for outstanding picture quality. The Wide-Area Passive Autofocus system provides precise, ultra-sharp focusing even for off-center subjects. In conditions where ambient light is low, the built-in flash -- with four modes, including fully automatic -- helps capture every precious memory. Fully automatic operation makes for easy film handling.
The LiteTouch Zoom 150ED QD model features a date and time imprint function, plus panorama mode, and can be used with optional remote controller ML-L3.

- Powerful 38-150mm zoom lens
- The 4x zoom lens provides a wide range of focal lengths, from 38 mm wideangle to 150mm telephoto, for a variety of compositions from sweeping landscapes to indoor groups and intimate close-ups. An extended focus range enables highly detailed photos at the 150mm telephoto setting from as close as 80cm (2.6 ft.).
- High-performance ED glass and aspherical lens elements
- Nikon's exclusive ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and two aspherical lens elements minimize chromatic aberration and distortion, ensuring crisp, clear detail and contrast throughout the zoom range.
- Wide-Area Passive Autofocus
- A sophisticated autofocus system that makes it possible to shoot sharp photos with ease and precision. The wide focus area ensures a clear focus regardless of where your subject is positioned within the frame.
- Intelligent auto flash
- Simply sliding open the lens cover readies the built-in intelligent pop-up flash for shooting under diverse lighting situations. In low-light or backlit conditions, Auto Flash fires automatically to provide the ideal balance of foreground and background illumination. The other three flash modes -- Flash Cancel, Anytime Flash and Night Portrait (Slow Sync Flash) -- offer the versatility that allows capture of the broadest range of scenes in just the right light.
- Anti-Fog Viewfinder
- The plastic lens surface of the viewfinder helps prevent fogging in cold or warm, humid environments.
- Diopter Adjustment
- Enables the eyepiece diopter to be set anywhere from -3 to +1m-1.
