Nikon Lite-Touch Zoom 130 ED
February 21, 2002
TOKYO - Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce that the LiteTouch Zoom 130 ED, the world's smallest, lightest 35mm 3.4x zoom compact camera*, will be introduced in February 2002.
The latest addition to the LiteTouch Zoom family of Nikon 35mm cameras, this new compact inherits Nikon optical quality, design sophistication and operating ease.
With a zoom range to fill a gap between the LiteTouch Zoom 120 ED released in 2000 and LiteTouch Zoom 140 ED released in 2001, two popular predecessors, the LiteTouch Zoom 130 ED is similarly targeted at users who appreciate the combination of Nikon quality, ready portability, advanced zoom, and sophisticated design that every LiteTouch Zoom camera offers.
In its ultra-compact body, the LiteTouch Zoom 130 ED packs a powerful 3.4x (38-130mm) zoom with protective sliding lens cover, and provides superior picture quality, thanks in large part to Nikon high-performance ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and two aspherical lens elements. Like all LiteTouch Zoom cameras, the LiteTouch Zoom 130 ED features champagne gold color. It also has translucent lens cover accent for steady handling and is simple to operate in every way.

Nikon LiteTouch Zoom 130 ED/130 ED QD Feature Highlights
- Supremely small and light
- As the world's smallest, lightest 35mm compact camera with a 3.4x (38-130mm) zoom and sliding lens cover*, this camera is easy to take everywhere and can capture every photo opportunity.
- *As of February 1, 2002
- Powerful 38-130mm zoom lens
- The 3.4x zoom lens is versatile enough to offer expansive wide-angle vistas at 38mm focal length and vivid close-ups of distant subjects at 130mm telephoto. Users can even shoot highly detailed photos from as close as 80cm (2.6 ft.) at 130mm telephoto away from subjects.
- High-performance ED glass and aspherical lens elements
- Nikon's exclusive ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and two aspherical lens elements minimize chromatic aberration and distortion, ensuring crisp, clear detail and contrast throughout the zoom range.
- Wide-Area Passive Autofocus
- The Wide-Area Passive Autofocus system makes it possible to shoot sharp pictures, effortlessly and precisely -- even when the subject is distant or behind a window. The wide focus area keeps focus clear, even when the subject is not in center frame.
- Intelligent auto flash
- Slide open the lens cover, and the built-in intelligent flash pops up, ready to adjust its light intensity according to zoom setting for more efficient coverage. Auto Flash, Flash Cancel, Anytime Flash and Night Portrait (Slow Sync Flash) offer the versatility to put most scenes in just the right light for the shot. In low-light or backlit conditions, flash can fire automatically, assuring better balance of foreground and background illumination.
- Anti-Fog Eyepiece
- The plastic lens surface of the viewfinder helps prevent fogging in cold or warm, humid environments.
