The Nikon D1X won "Best Digital SLR System Camera in Europe 2001-2002" from TIPA

August 2001

TOKYO -- Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce that the Nikon D1X Professional Digital SLR camera has been declared "Best Digital SLR System Camera in Europe 2001-2002" by TIPA.

TIPA (Technical Image Press Association), founded in Paris in 1991, is an independent non-profit professional organisation open to all European magazines in the photo and video publishing industry. TIPA editors make their judgements based on vital end-user criteria for quality, performance and value. Each year, editors and technical editors from 30 leading European magazines put forward their selections for the TIPA "Best European" prize in each category.

In its official statement, TIPA said "The Nikon D1X was named Best Digital System Camera for its combination of high build quality, advanced specifications and affordable price. It delivers the high image quality required by professionals in many fields, together with ease of use and fast capture rates that allow the photographer maximum freedom. The D1X builds on the ground-breaking design introduced with the D1, retaining its best features while adding many new ones and doubling its resolution, taking digital capture into its next phase."
