Nikon Corporation sponsors two great soccer tournaments this winter

Nikon Corporation (President - SHIMAMURA, Teruo) will sponsor the 22nd Toyota European/South American Cup (Toyota Cup) (Kickoff: 7:10 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27th, 2001 at the National Stadium Tokyo) and the 81st Emperor's Cup (All Japan Soccer Tournament) (Sunday, Nov. 25th, 2001 to Tuesday, Jan. 1st, 2002).
Toyota Cup is a well-acclaimed tournament around the world, in which the club team champions of Europe and South America compete.
This year's tournament will be an exciting match between FC Bayern Müchen (Germany), the winner of the UEFA Champions League 2000-2001, and Boca Juniors (Argentina), the winner of the Libertadores Cup 2001 as well as the winner of last year's Toyota Cup.
Nikon has been a sponsor of the Toyota Cup since the 8th tournament (1987), and will support the game by displaying a Nikon logo signboard in the stadium and placing ads in the tournament programs those that are sold at the day of the game.
The Emperor's Cup is a traditional tournament that has been held since 1921, and this year will be the 81st Emperor's Cup. A total of 80 teams, including those from J-League, JFL (Japan Football League), universities, youth teams, as well as teams from each urban and rural prefecture, will compete in this, the largest soccer tournament in Japan.
Nikon sponsors this popular tournament, and there will be Nikon logo signboards placed in the stadium during the seven games from the quarterfinals until the final.
This tournament will be broadcast by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) and SkyPerfecTV (Japanese largest digital communication satellite broadcasting service).
