Programs for children with the Seattle Mariners
April 6, 2012
Nikon has been conducting a social responsibility program since 2007 in a joint effort with the Seattle Mariners, a Major League Baseball team. The site of the "Mariners-Nikon Social Responsibility Program" is Safeco Field, the team's home stadium. This program is to enable elementary school students in Seattle to experience the enjoyment of watching baseball and taking photographs with digital cameras.
- Equipment Donation:
- COOLPIX digital cameras will be donated to selected schools. Student representatives from each school will be invited to attend a pre-game on-field ceremony. The representatives will be also photographed with Mariners players.
- Invitation to Safeco Field:
- Children from selected schools will be invited to Safeco Field to watch Mariners home games during the season.
Here are some comments from last season's participants. "One of my best childhood memories!" "It was lots of fun getting on the field and meeting a player." "The cameras will be a great learning tool for our kids."
This year marks the sixth season for the Mariners-Nikon Social Responsibility Program.
